Albania Field Staff

Bérengère de Negri, Chief of Party, has more than 20 years of experience in adult education, behavior change communication, advocacy and interpersonal communication, capacity building, educational materials and strategy development, and participatory research methods. She has worked in more than 30 African countries and in Latin America and Asia. Her areas of expertise include HIV and AIDS; reproductive health and population; maternal, newborn, and child health; injection safety; malaria; tuberculosis; and avian influenza. She is fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She has a nursing degree, an MS, and a PhD in education.

Anila Gjoni, Finance and Administration Specialist, has more than 10 years of experience in international finance and office administration, including for German Caritas and UNHCR. For six years, she was country representative and finance and operation manager for USAID’s Albania Child Survival Project. She has a degree in finance.

Arian Boci, Technical Officer, gained skills and experience in the areas of HIV and AIDS and drug abuse education and prevention as a Hubert Humphrey Fellow in 2007–08. Previously, he coordinated working groups on social services and national quality standards for the World Bank, worked for the STOP AIDS Association, and was project director and founder of the first mobile needle exchange program in Tirana. He has a master’s degree in public health.

Elis Thaci, Administrative Assistant and Driver, has more than 10 years experience, including with URC and the UNFPA, and has a diploma as a mechanic.
