Success Story: C-Change and PMI assist communities in efforts to prevent malaria
C-Change is working in Kenya with funding from the President's Malaria Initiative to help districts in western Kenya combat malaria. This Success Story details work being done to provide training in social and behavior change communication so that community health workers are better equipped to help communities prevent and control malaria. Radio spots are supporting the behavior change activities. These activities by C-Change have led to a reduction in malaria cases for children under 5 and pregnant women, an increase in use of insecticide-treated nets, and an increase in the number of pregnant women seeking intermittent preventive treatment (IPTp) to prevent malaria at clinics.
