C-Change DRC Final Report

Publication Date:

The C-Change DRC Final Report summarizes the three-year Associate Award from August 1, 2012 to July 31, 2015. C-Change worked with USAID/DRC’s Integrated Health Project (IHP), Integrated HIV/AIDS Project (ProViC), and other partners to increase the capacity of communities to change health behaviors, increase uptake of community-based services, and achieve improved health practices. In the first two years, C-Change conducted community-level qualitative studies, developed outreach tools for relais communautaires (RECOs), and worked with media and other partners to develop accurate and effective messaging and radio programming to promote positive health behavioral practices.

C-Change also worked to build national support for repositioning family planning, fostering positive support from decision-makers to create an enabling environment for family planning (FP) and reproductive health (RH). C-Change provided technical assistance and support to build the capacity of national and partner programs to address malaria, FP/RH, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), maternal and child health (MCH), and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) challenges. To build local capacity to combat malaria, C-Change collaborated with the University of Kinshasa to provide social and behavior change communication (SBCC) training as part of a Malaria course.
