C-Change Signs MOU with PIRCOM in Mozambique

PIRCOM and C-Change signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on June 8, 2010 in Maputo, Mozambique that supports USAID’s efforts to control malaria and water-borne diseases.

Over the next two years, with assistance from the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), C-Change will partner with PIRCOM, a faith-based organization, to strengthen its organizational capacity to carry out social and behavior change communication.

C-Change Helps the Kenyan Government Accelerate Family Planning Efforts

The Government of Kenya (GOK) officially launched the national reproductive health strategy and guideline documents on April 22, 2010 with support from USAID, WHO, GTZ, Liverpool VCT, and implementing partners including C-Change, FHI, JHPIEGO and Population Council. Launched under the theme:  “Acceleration of Maternal, Newborn, and Family Health Interventions for the Achievement of MDGs and Vision 2030,” the documents mark a national recommitment to family planning (FP) efforts by the GOK.

C-Modules are Launched

On April 1, 2010, C-Change launched C-Modules: A Learning Package for Social and Behavior Change Communication. Designed for facilitated, face-to-face workshops on social and behavior change communication (SBCC), the modules were field tested in Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. This package is designed for staff of development programs in small and medium-sized organizations with varying degrees of experience in planning or implementing SBCC programs.

SBCC Training in Namibia: Measuring Behavior Outcomes in HIV Prevention Programs

C-Change recently completed a 4-day training in Namibia for 20 people from three local organizations on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and data collection methods and ethics around their HIV prevention work. This was the first of a four-part capacity strengthening series aimed at improving agencies’ ability to monitor outcomes and results of their programs.

C-Change Assists SAT Network to Increase SBCC Knowledge and Skills

C-Change led a participatory learning workshop on social and behavior change communication (SBCC) programming with Southern African AIDS Trust (SAT) in January-February 2010. Twenty-three participants from Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe attended the 10-day workshop in Johannesburg, South Africa.

SBCC Training for NGOs in Kenya Strengthens Capacity
