C-Change Announced as Finalist for a Prestigious International Award
Monday, September 24, 2012
September 24—C-Change is honored and thrilled to be among five finalists in the behavior change category of the Katerva Awards.
News of this international recognition arrived September 23 from Katerva, an organization dedicated to identifying and accelerating the most promising and sustainable ideas and initiatives. As Katerva puts it, “Our award winners don’t simply move the needle—they change the game entirely. This is a celebration of radical innovation and an acceleration of much needed change.”
Initiatives and projects nominated in 10 areas span the entire globe. Last year’s finalists were featured by Reuters, The Guardian, and Forbes, and vie for an award that has been called “the Holy Grail of social change.”
The selection of finalists follows a rigorous evaluation process. C-Change’s socio-ecological approach to improving lives by strengthening capacity in social and behavior change communication cleared the high bars set by Katerva’s Validation Panel and Scalability Panel. In the process, C-Change was noted as an exemplary representative of a USAID initiative and commended for its attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to engage with intended beneficiaries.
The final decision will be made in October by Katerva’s Impact Panel.
