Family Planning


C-Change has been working with agencies of the Government of Kenya and local and international NGOs to strengthen and improve social and behavior change communication (SBCC) for family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH), malaria prevention and control, and to promote voluntary medical male circumcision for HIV prevention.

Sound operations research is a fundamental component of C-Change’s work. Its findings guide our SBCC capacity-strengthening strategies in different settings; the  tools and training we develop; and interventions we design, adapt, and promote. To date, research has been or is being conducted on:


Increasing uptake of modern contraceptives

C-Change implemented an integrated social and behavior change communication (SBCC) program from 2009–11 to increase young men and women’s uptake of modern contraceptive methods. This program worked to counter current misconceptions about these methods and improve informed choice for modern contraceptives.
