Malaria Prevention Campaign in Oromia, Ethiopia

C-Change/Ethiopia launched the malaria prevention campaign in Oromia Region in August 2009 in partnership with the Oromia Health Bureau with a Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop.

CMC volunteers carry out malaria campaign in their communities in Oromia, EthiopiaTrainers were introduced to the four small, doable actions that families must carry out to prevent malaria. Trainers in turn train the Community Mobilization Committee (CMC) volunteers from participating kebeles (the smallest administrative unit in the Ethiopian government) in Oromia to work with community groups and at the schools to help families and individuals carry out the small, doable actions that will prevent malaria. They use the tools that C-Change/Ethiopia has developed, including the the Essential Malaria Actions (EMA) flipchart with basic information on malaria protection and control and the Malaria Protection Scorecards, to help families chart their own progress.
